If Source Mappings is turned ON, then adding a column to a diagram using the drag and drop method automatically creates the source mappings for that column.

If however, the column was created in the diagram with Source Mappings turned OFF, then you can add the source mappings in the following ways:

To add the source mappings for the columns in the table:

  1. Click the Source mapping creation button in the diagram toolbar.
  2. Select the columns from the table in the source system tree and drag them onto the target table in the diagram.

    You cannot select multiple columns and drag them onto a table in the diagram to create source mappings.
    The Choose source mapping set dialog is displayed as shown in the following screenshot:
  3. Select the Choose source mapping set radio button and select a source mapping set from the drop-down list or select the Create source mapping set to create a new source mapping set.
  4. Click the OK button. The Source mappings properties window for the table is displayed with the columns from the source entities that exists in the target entity automatically mapped. Refer to Adding a Source Mapping via Source Mapping tab for details.
