The Opacity property denotes the appearance of the Icon and IconImage in terms of their interaction with the background.
The default is 100; entirely opaque. No background will be visible at all.
As the value decreases, more and more of the background will become visible through the icon. When the value is 0 the icon will be entirely transparent and only the background will be visible.
Note: an icon with opacity of 0 is not visible to the user but will continue to function as normal and is still both visible and enabled.
