Idera products include user roles to easily manage permissions based on a role rather than an individual user account. This feature allows you to assign a role to an account, and know that the user have access to the instances they need to perform their job.

There are three roles available for each user account:

  • Administrator
  • User
  • Guest

If you assign the User or Guest role to a user account, Idera Dashboard allows you to select any tags or instances to which you want this user account to have access. The user has access to view all instances under a tag selected along with the instances selected separately.
