When you define steps for a job, you have to determine the type of step. SQL Enterprise Job Manager handles the following types of steps:
- Executable programs and operating systems commands.
- Transact-SQL statements, including stored procedures and extended stored procedures.
- Powershell scripts.
- Microsoft ActiveX Scripts.
- Replication tasks: Replication Distributor, Replication Merge, Replication Queue Reader, Replication Snapshot, Replication Transaction-Log Reader.
