To specify the Amazon cloud settings to be used through the different backups and restores, go to the Cloud Settings tab of the Configure General Preferences option from the Administration tab. 

In this section, you can specify following default settings. 

  • Access Keyspecify the access key generated in your security credentials of your Amazon S3 web console. For more information, click here.
  • Secret Key - specify the secret key generated in your security credentials of your Amazon S3 web console. For more information, click here. 
  • Region - select the region where your information will be stored. You can find more information about these regions here.
  • Bucket Name - define the name of the Amazon S3 bucket where your backup will be stored
  • File size - File size is used to determine the minimal parts of the backup file in bytes that will be sent to the bucket simultaneously. The minimal value for File Size is 1 000 000 bytes.

When a backup is taken on Windows Azure blob, it uploads multiple files, each with size of 70MB. If there are network connection problems, the backup eventually fails, but files remain on Windows Azure. SQLSafe will not delete these partial backup files. If you want to delete those, you need to do it manually on your Azure account.
