Profiling is the process of inspecting data and collecting information about the characteristics of the data contained by a database. WhereScape 3D provides a default set of metrics to collect during profiling. Users are encouraged to alter, configure and extend the metrics to be collected.
WhereScape 3D contains three types of profiling:
- Generic default metrics - These cannot be viewed or edited. Refer to Generic Default Profiling Metrics for details.
- WhereScape defined - These can be viewed using the Profile method manager tool. Refer to WhereScape Defined Profiling for details.
- User defined - These can be viewed and edited using the Profile method manager tool. Refer to User Defined Profiling for details.
