The Sales Contact will send the Cloud account ID license files back to you. These files will be suffixed with “.lic”.

The Cloud account ID license file(s) must be installed on each Cloud VM instance that needs to be licensed. It usually makes sense to install all license files in a custom image, which may be used in any account/region.

The Cloud Account license files can be in one of two places:

  1. In a directory relative to the Visual LANSA install.
    E.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\LANSA\WAM Application\X_Win95\X_LANSA
  2. In a common location that is referenced from the registry entry: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\LANSA\Common, with Key and Value:
  3. In this example, the location to put the Cloud Account license files would be c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\LANSA.
  4. This common file location is recommended for customers as it is then available for any application installed and can be pre-installed into a custom image.
